About
My continued fascination of the Australian High Country wildflowers, creeks and waterholes, is the inspiration for these most recent works. I’ve been coming onto the High Plains for over 40 years and documenting this unique landscape for over 20. A deep sense of calm washes over me and my connection to this landscape deepens with each passing season.
My interpretation of the landscape is expressed with joyous energy — full of movement, it’s a felt emotion. Subtle vibrations in colour, drawn from the landscape keeps the surface active and reflecting natures complexity.
The fast drying nature of acrylic paint suits my process and allows me to be in one continuous flow with extensive colour mixing across the layers.
I’m curious by nature and thrive on the exploration of pigments and their individual characteristics in translucency, opacity and the interaction of colour with it’s surroundings.
